dropline GNOME 50 – updates



Yep folks, step by step is going to be defined. I am quite happy on how it came out and how its working so far. There is still a lot of things to be fixed and built, but if somebody wants to try it and do install, download the packages from here and install it by

upgradepkg --install-new *.txz .

To start the gnome you will need to start it from the tty by entering this command:

dbus-run-session gnome-shell

This is because of course I need to put some effort into the gnome-session and once this solved there will be a possibility to run it from GDM or by simply issue

startgnomewayland

from command line. You can report back if you wish , I will probably be looking to the #dropline irc channel on LiberaChat. Otherwise you can always mail the development mailing list.

PS: I forgot that to logout you will need to kill gnome-shell process by sending the SIGHUP 15 signal.

dropline GNOME 50 in the works.

Hi, just wanted to inform that I started working on dropline GNOME 50, which is the gnome 50 desktop.
So far I have built a lot of stuff and in case somebody wants to jump in helping debuging and setting things
up correctly let me know. Buit stuff so far is located in the usual location here.
I can start it but there is a lot of mess to be cleaned up. Plan is to build all the packages and then step by step setting it up so it can be working well as usual.
